Monika Nangia

Primary specialism: Higher Education; Regulation; Student Experience​ 

As a highly experienced and trusted senior leader with over 25 years of experience in higher education and with a doctorate in 'Public Policy and Education' from Goldsmiths, University of London, Monika has been successfully refining and shaping excellent student experience in universities to improve student attainment and success and provide strategic leadership in driving excellence and innovation in university administration.

She is a highly trusted administrator with responsibility for fulfilling the institution’s regulatory obligations to the Office for Students such as, Prevent, Quality Assurance, TEF and Student Protection Plan. She has experience of launching new student information systems, as well as the student records system. She has managed organisational change and transformation, including complex office relocations. She is committed to the agenda of social mobility and social justice, she champions inclusive practices in the workplace and promotes a culture shift that creates higher performing organisations where motivations and morale soars. Currently, she is the Director of Student and Academic Services at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and has held similar roles at Queen Mary, King’s College London and St Mary’s University.
