After 4 challenging years of studying, graduation was one of days I looked forward to the most, aside from completing my degree. On 22 November 2018 myself and my fabulous group of friends celebrated completing our Masters, and it was a day that lived up to every expectation I had!

From the beginning to the end of the day, it was lovely seeing classmates after a few months of making a living in the real world of osteopathy. Everyone had huge smiles on their faces and looked great in their gowns.

The venue was perfect! Outside the beautiful Westminster Abbey - great for that pre-ceremony photo shoot I must add! This particular area of London holds great sentiment to my family, so it really was lovely to celebrate such a fantastic day where lots of memories had been made!

What really made the day special was how HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne took the time to speak to every individual who went on stage to collect their certificates. I will never forget that overwhelming 7 seconds of emotion - and knowing how proud my parents and grandparents were seeing me up on stage achieving what I had aimed for since the age of 14.

As you can probably tell, I loved every minute of our graduation ceremony, and it really is such a memorable day to celebrate after 4 years or hard work. It goes without saying that a huge thank you is owed to the staff who organised this day for us, and in particular to Allan Scott for making the day run so smoothly.

I wish all the current full-time and part-time students the best of luck for what’s left of their journeys at the UCO, and hopefully they will enjoy their graduation day as much as I did when their time comes!
