UCO Associate, Daniela Witten, completed the Red Run 10k in Victoria Park at the weekend to raise money for HIV support services.
Daniela said: "The Red Run World AIDS Day event was brilliant. Great party atmosphere, disco music warm-up, free coffee, t-shirt and bag, and everyone was awarded a medal at the end. To top it all, I achieved my personal best, 59:47 mins! Well pleased with that, it was amazing to make a small contribution to World AIDS Day.
"I'm relatively new to running, started 24 December 2016 with a 5k park run in 33:33 mins. Couldn't walk the next day, my legs! Since then have completed 30 park runs with fastest time of 28:00 mins. I've also completed several 10k races and joined a running club. I'm currently training for my first ever half-marathon, the London Landmarks held 25 March 2018."
Congratulations to Daniela on achieving a PB, and for highlighting such a great cause.
Red ribbons are still on sale at the UCO Clinic reception for £1. All funds raised will go to the National Aids Trust.
