1915
British School of Osteopathy (BSO) founded by John Martin Littlejohn.
1917
BSO is incorporated and John Martin Littlejohn becomes its first Principal.
1925
First students graduate.
1929
The Incorporated Association of Osteopaths becomes the Association of BSO graduates.
1930
Relocation to Buckingham Gate.
1938
The BSO and its graduates recognised by the General Council and Register of Osteopaths (GCRO).
1947
Death of John Martin Littlejohn.
1948
Shilton Webster-Jones becomes Principal.
1950
Revision of the curriculum.
1963
BSO receives charity status.
1968
Colin Dove becomes Principal.
1970
Diploma course becomes a 4-year course at the BSO.
1977
Stanley Bradford becomes Principal.
1980
Relocation to Suffolk Street.
1982
Sir Norman Lindop becomes Principal.
1984
HRH The Princess Royal becomes Patron of the BSO.
1986
Opening of Gallery Lecture Theatre.
1988
Diploma course becomes a BSc course validated by the Council for National Academic Awards (CNAA).
1990
Clive Standen becomes Principal.
1993
BSc course is validated by Open University Validation Services (OUVS).
1997
Relocation to Borough High Street.
1998
HRH officially opens the new building, Dr Martin Collins becomes Principal.
2000
BSO gains Recognized Qualification (RQ) status from the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).
2001
Course is validated by the OUVS as B.Ost (Bachelor of Osteopathy).
2004
Government funding acquired through the University of Bedfordshire who now validates the course.
2006
Charles Hunt becomes Principal.
2008
Change of course title to M.Ost (Master of Osteopathy), and opening of new clinic on Southwark Bridge Road.
2015
BSO receives Taught Degree Awarding Powers and designation for government funding.
2017
University College status is awarded by the Privy Council, the BSO becomes the University College of Osteopathy (UCO). HRH is now Chancellor, and Charles Hunt is Vice-Chancellor of the UCO.
