We are pleased to announce that Dawn Carnes, Professorial Research Fellow at the UCO, has been appointed the Chair of the Council for Allied Health Professions in Research (CAHPR), strategy committee.
The council's mission is to: develop Allied Health research, to strengthen the evidence of the professions’ value and impact for enhancing service user and community care, and to enable the allied health professions to speak with one voice on research issues. Thereby the aim is to raise the profile of allied health professionals and increase their influence.
CAHPR is the umbrella organisation for the 13 Allied Health Professions in the UK and Dawn's appointment helps puts osteopathy firmly in the mix of allied health. This is good news for osteopathy which has only been recognised as an allied health profession since 2017.
Like the National Council for Osteopathic Research (NCOR), CAHPR organise research hubs where everyone is welcome to discuss new initiatives and patient care.
