Richard’s qualifications include an MBA, a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a Diploma in Accounting and Finance.
For much of his career, Richard has led the Organisational Development & Human Resources function of a range of commercial organisations and most recently also for not-for-profit sector. Additional experience spans one of UCO’s big priorities within the next 5 years, that of moving offices. He led a Programme to establish 15 new offices in cities worldwide from a legal registration, workplace facilities, IT infrastructure and human resources and recruitment perspective, and also within the UK championed a £4m office transformation programme, during those 3 years relocating staff: consolidating them in new facilities and moving towards a model of more agile working.
He has educational and non-executive experience, having been a school Chair of Governors for 10 years. During that time, he led a change project to merge two schools, creating outstanding teaching and learning and setting up children for the best start in life. He is also a Trustee of the John Muir Trust. Prior to joining the UCO Board, he has been an osteopathic user being a patient under a past President of the Institute for Osteopathy (iO).
