Congratulations on securing a place to student with the UCO School of Osteopathy, part of Health Sciences University. We look forward to welcoming you this September! 


To help you get the most from your university expereince from the very beginning please find information below that will be useful to you before and when you arrive.
 

1. Complete online registration

If you have met the conditions of your offer, you will be sent instructions for enrolment and registration via email starting the week beginning 19 August - please keep an eye on your mailbox. Included in these instructions will be a link to complete your registration online.

Online registration takes about 20 minutes to complete and ensures we have all the information that we need about you. Your online registration means you agree to your student contract with us and to our current student policies. 

If you have any questions about enrolment or you are an unconditional offer holder and haven't received your enrolment pack by the end of August, please contact admissions@uco.ac.uk so the team can assist you.
 

2. Get your qualifications and ID ready for verification

If you haven't already done so please email copies of the following to admissions@uco.ac.uk:

  • Copies of your previous qualification certificates
  • Copies of your passport/visa documentation/status code
  • A passport style photo of yourself (this will be used to create your student card)
  • Supporting documentation for your enhanced DBS check (please see details of your offer for more information).

You will also need to bring the original copies of these documents with you when you attend your course induction so that they can be checked and verified. If you have overseas qualifications please ensure these have been officially translated in to English.

3. Add these dates to your diary

Course induction and start dates

  • M.Ost Full-time - Induction will be held on Monday 16 September, 10am - 4pm. Timetabled lectures will begin on Tuesday 17 September.
  • M.Ost Part-time - Induction will be held on Friday 20 September, 9am - 3pm. Timetabled lectures will begin on Saturday 21 September.
  • Access to HE Diploma - Induction will be held on Friday 20 September, 1 - 5pm. Timetabled lectures will begin on Saturday 21 September.

Induction and enrolment is an essential part of your successful introduction to university life, with activities designed to prepare you for your course, familiarise you with the campus and facilities and to help you get to know the students and staff who will be sharing your journey with you. Al students are expected to attend the course inductions - let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend for any reason at admissions@uco.ac.uk.

Your induction timetable will be shared with you when we send you your enrolment pack.

SU events

Our Students' Union is busy preparing a programme of social events for induction week - we will share this here as soon as it is ready! Please join us for as many events as you can - they are a great way to get to know students across the year groups and to meet people with common interests.

4. Join the HSU Students' Union Facebook Group

Meet new students before you even arrive by joining the HSU Students’ Union Facebook group. This is your go-to platform to start socialising with your cohort, stay informed about upcoming Freshers events, and keep up to date with all the latest news and activities from the ASU. Get a head start on making friends and becoming an active part of our vibrant student community.

6. Arrange your accommodation

If you are planning to live away from home and have yet to sort out accommodation now is the time to do so.

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide London accommodation for students but if you are looking for accommodation you may wish to join our Facebook accommodation group to connect with students in a similar situation or with accommodation to rent. 

Be aware that the rental market in London can move very quickly and it is easy to feel under pressure to sign a contract or pay a deposit to secure a place, but you should always do your research and plan a budget. Download our accommodation fact sheet for tips and advice.

 

7. Explore the surrounding area

London’s Borough High Street in Southwark offers a unique blend of historic charm and vibrant city life.

Stroll along the bustling streets, enjoy the scenic views of the Thames, or catch a show at the renowned Globe Theatre. Seeking adventure? Explore the vibrant markets, take a river cruise, or visit nearby landmarks like the Shard and Tower Bridge.
