The research team aim to promote and embed evidence-informed approaches to osteopathic education and osteopathic practice within the curriculae of the undergraduate courses.
In addition, UCO offer a number of postgraduate certificate, diploma and degree courses which typically include the development of critical appraisal skills and research-based activities at differing levels. Certificate and diploma level courses cover a range of clinical and educational subjects.
Although UCO is not currently running an MSc course, osteopaths who wish to extend their education to a higher level are encouraged to apply for a research-based Doctoral degree. UCO work with the University of Bedfordshire to nominate and supervise candidates for PhD awards from the University of Bedfordshire. These research degrees and opportunities have evolved from a professional doctorate programme that has been running since 2011 and has resulted in four successful doctoral graduates to date.
