How do we determine your fee status?
The UCO is responsible for determining each applicant’s fee status for the purpose of paying tuition fees. We assess your fee status based on UK Government legislation.
As we are a publicly funded educational institution, we charge two levels of fee: a lower 'Home/UK' fee and a higher 'Overseas/EU' fee. Whether you pay a 'Home/UK' or 'Overseas/EU' fee depends on whether you meet certain criteria.
For further guidance, please contact the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) or visit the UKCISA website.
Most applicants will have their fee status determined based on the information that is provided on their application form. In some cases, it may be unclear what fee status should apply and the applicant will be required to complete a fee assessment form to provide further information. This will then be used to determine whether you are eligible for the Home/UK fee or the ‘Overseas/EU’ fee.
All new international students (and EU students from 2021-22) starting a course at the UCO are required to pay a deposit of £1,000. All students are expected to pay the deposit prior to creating a CAS (Confirmation for Acceptance of Studies) with UK Visas and Immigration; this is to enable students to apply for a visa.
