The UCO is committed to supporting widening participation and access to our academic programmes. This includes recognising the existing achievements of applicants in terms of prior awards, qualifications and certified study.

Our commitment to this is outlined in our Recognition of Prior Learning Policy (RPL).

In recent years, the diversity of our applicants has grown to include those who have successfully achieved undergraduate and postgraduate science degrees, for example in Human Biology, Anatomical Sciences, Biology and Physiology.

If you have completed a science degree such the examples provided above, you may be eligible to have this prior learning recognised if the content and level closely corresponds with some of the theoretical study undertaken on your chosen UCO course. You may be similarly eligible if you have part-completed an osteopathic or other health qualification.

If you are eligible you will be exempt from studying the corresponding modules and will receive an RPL credit for these.

Applying for RPL

If you think you may be eligible for Recognition for Prior Learning please contact our admissions team at admissions@uco.ac.uk or at +44 (0)20 7089 5316.

You will be required to complete an application form and provide certificated evidence of the prior learning. Your application will then be considered and you will be notified of the result.

More information can be found in our RPL handbooks:
